Several years ago I decided to start
teaching workshops. Originally it was a way for me to get out of the
studio on occasion and take a break from making pots. It has since become
an extremely rewarding experience for me. In fact, every time I teach a
workshop, I learn something. When I do demonstrations I'll usually try a
new pot or technique for the first time. I figured if I'm asking my
students to take risks and try some new things then I should be willing to
try too.
I've been fortunate to teach at some
of the finest facilities around, including
Penland School of Crafts,
Arrowmont School
of Arts and Crafts,
Brookfield Craft Center,
Greenwich House Pottery,
John C. Campbell Folkschool,
Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts,
Appalachian Center for Crafts,
Mudfire Studio,
Canton
Clayworks, UNC Asheville, Appalachian State University,
and UNC Pembroke. I've had a lot of great students and made many great
friends by teaching over the years. Check my current events page to see
where I'm teaching next! |
